For a day out that the whole family will enjoy, take a trip to Newquay’s Bluereef Aquarium just off Towan Beach. The centre offers its visitors to the chance to see sharks and rays, as well as a host of colourful fish.
Another family favourite is World In Miniature where, as the name suggests, you can see some of the world’s most famous landmarks set out on a miniature scale. Take yourselves off on a whirlwind tour of the Taj Mahal, the Sphinx, past the leading tower of Pisa, and onto the Stonehenge. What’s more they’ve got lots of thrilling rides including the new Batflyer and lots of picturesque gardens in which to relax and have a picnic.
For a day out that the weather can’t spoil checkout Tunnels Through Time where you can take a step back through the ages. You’ll discover great characters from smugglers and pirates to highwaymen. Those whose nerves can stand it can then go into the Dungeon of Despair where truly gruesome sights await you.
Newquay Zoo, part of The Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, has plenty to entertain its many visitors with, from the big cats and monkeys to the fun penguin pool and a village farm. There’s also an oriental garden to sit out in, or a café for refreshments.
For an all year round attraction that the weather can’t spoil how about a trip to Waterworld? Not only does Waterworld have a huge swimming pool complete with water slides, there’s also a gym and aerobics classes to keep you occupied.
